Stephen Mawby

Head of Southern Africa Division

Stephen started off his career at Reckitt & Colman in Sales & Marketing. In this role he handled Regional and National Accounts, and established their first Customer Marketing team as well as taking key brand Lemsip to brand leadership in the Cold & Flu Grocery through an aggressive wave of new product launches over three successive years

He later joined Kraft Jacob’s Suchards as Marketing Manager, Coffee driving the portfolio through strong development of Kenco Coffees. Innovations included the identification and development of Carte Noire – a major new coffee brand for the UK

In 1994 he joined Cadbury as Marketing Controller and achieved four years continuous brand share growth for the first time in the company since the 1960’s.

In 1998 he joined Glendinning as Director of Consulting. Over a period, he worked extensively in the UK and Europe on the creation of brand focussed category strategies and channel strategies, and redesigned brand and customer marketing teams across leading soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, hot beverages, confectionery, biscuits, foods, detergent and household companies. In recent years, his work has extended into Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas in food, drinks, oil, and telecoms. Stephen currently heads up Glendinning’s office in South Africa.
