Tom O'Connor

Tom entered the Consumer Products industry in USA with Unilever in 1991 as a Sales Merchandiser in the Boston area and progressed into Sales Management and Category Management over the next 5 years. Tom became Director Category Management with Unilever foods in 1997. Later he tool on the role of Director Global Customer Development, based in London and Rotterdam, where he co-established Global Business Units to manage Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Tesco and Ahold.
Tom left Unilever in 2002 and spent 2 years in the Entertainment industry with Universal Pictures, London, where he worked in Supply Chain, leading all VMI activity with Wal-Mart, WH Smith and other key retailers within the UK. Tom entered the Spirits industry in 2005 as a National Accounts Controller with Whyte and Mackay, the world’s largest supplier of private label spirits, where he managed all branded and private label business with Sainsbury, Wal-Mart (ASDA) as well as British wholesalers Booker and Bestway.
Tom joined Glendinning USA in 2006 and has worked across a variety of clients within the Consumer Products, Pharmaceutical and Energy industries. His core areas of expertise are Key Account Management, Route to Market, Category Management and Organizational Capability.
Tom enjoys playing guitar when he gets the chance and is married with two children.
